Metodiev: It was not the CSNS for the crisis in the Middle East, but a mercantile meeting

I am categorically against increasing defense money. It is absurd that the country with the worst demographics in the world and the poorest and most backward in the EU constantly increases expenses that will not bring any development. This is not the time! What systems if there are no people?

Metodiev: It was not the CSNS for the crisis in the Middle East, but a mercantile meeting - 1

Kaloyan Metodiev, independent member of parliament in the 50th National Assembly, political scientist, made a comment on his Facebook page about today's meeting of the CSNS:

KSNS - give us money!

After almost 3 years there was no meeting of the CSNS (it was not convened for the Covid crisis, nor for the fires, nor for the floods, nor for the war in Ukraine, nor for the political crisis... ) we witnessed a weak such as legitimacy, messages and authority advice.

The second largest group in the parliament (independents - 40 people) was not represented. This was not an advisory council on measures for the crisis in the Middle East, but a mercantile gathering that decided its own internal issues.

A few words were said at the press conference about the specific topic of the council and everything else was about finances.

From Radev's words, it became clear that they agreed that money would be poured into armaments, new systems, logistics. The goal is for defense spending to reach 2.5% of GDP.

I am categorically against any increase in defense spending. It is absurd that the country with the worst demographics in the world and the poorest and most backward in the EU constantly increases expenses that will not bring any development. This is not the time! What systems if there are no people?

I have not supported a single vote in Parliament for the hundreds of millions of sorties this summer for all kinds of systems, radars and other armaments. Shame on an Advisory Council that is a problem for national security, not its protector.
