In the upcoming elections, paper rolls will not be used for machine voting , which were produced and used in previous elections. The paper will have completely different, additional protections that have not been approved and implemented so far. This was said by the chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Kamelia Neikova during the meeting organized by President Rumen Radev with representatives of the institutions, responsible for the preparation of the upcoming elections for the National Assembly and for guaranteeing the fairness of the vote, BTA reports.

Neikova also explained that the CEC has approved additional protection for the specialized paper, which has not been used so far, and it will be one for the partial local elections and another for the National Assembly elections on October 27. According to her, the difference between the rolls of paper for the two choices is even visually noticeable.

Neikova added that information has been received from all but two districts, from a large part of the municipalities and the printing house of the BNB, in connection with the CEC's decision to destroy all unused rolls of paper so far.
