The risks we warned about a year ago have started to appear realize. We have an unheard of deficit as early as September 30 – nearly 3 billion. In the future, if the trajectory on which we are moving does not change, we will have a deficit of 18 billion – 9% of GDP. This was stated by Vasil Velev from AIKB to Nova TV, quoted by novini.bg.
„Let us be the bad guys and say it – we have a burdensome administration. Our population is shrinking and our bureaucrats are growing. For the second year, the industry is down by a double-digit number”, he explained.
„Let us learn from the mistakes of others. Greece at the beginning of the century was at 70% of the EU standard, and now they are at 67%. We were at 28%, now we are at 64%. By a sensible policy we have ascended, and the Greeks are running against us. This is drunkenness, after which there will be an ugly hangover, Velev believes.
In his words, salaries in the real sector have decreased, not increased. Growth in statistics reflects growth in administration.
AKIB propose 20% cuts in the administration: “Freeze costs, cut staff who can go to the economy. We have a heavy public sector.”
He is adamant that the flat tax should not be touched, a tax refund should be taken for the socially poor.
„We are in an economic crisis. If we create a financial crisis now, the consequences will be much more severe than our proposals”, he also said.
