Plamen Dimitrov: Collecting more revenue and increasing some taxes is the way to fix the revenue part - 1

Who governs the state, to make a political commitment, for higher tax collection or increased taxes, or introduction of new ones for these industries and sectors, which do not have for the budget to happen with this 3% deficit. And that our entry into the Eurozone is not jeopardized.

This was said by the president of the National Security Council, Plamen Dimitrov, in an interview with BNR. In the show "Something more" commented on the union's demands for the draft Budget 2025.

"All measures to cut spending across the EU have been rejected as they have a negative effect on the growth of countries. To Mario Draghi, the report proposes other measures, but that is another topic. And we are 10 years behind and 5 to the left. What should be done is from the revenue part of the budget. The days of low taxes and all those reduced VAT rates are over. "More revenue" is the philosophy of the states," explained Plamen Dimitrov.
And he added that the KNSB's proposals for the macro framework of the draft budget for 2025 are more revenues and higher social security contributions.

"Years ago, non-payment of insurance contributions in full was criminalized. Someone has to go to jail, it's massive on the sea summer, in construction, trade. Collecting more revenue and increasing some taxes, this is the way to patch up the revenue part and measured generosity in spending," the KNSB president pointed out.

He said that there is no way to cut money for defense and security. "We are already at 2.5% and there is talk that it should become 3% for defense. Together with the pensions that are growing, there is no way to cut from there", he is categorical.
And suggested:

"The philosophy should be reversed - additional funds in the budget with the introduction of some new taxes as in France, Great Britain, etc. countries - digital tax. There is an opportunity to make additional income in the budget. Insurance contributions, which now cover about 40% of pensions, are an unavoidable measure if we want to adequately finance our systems.
