Ivelin Mihaylov: The topic of the no-confidence vote was deliberately chosen so that it could not unite the opposition - 1

The government survived the first no-confidence vote this week, and the opposition failed to unite. The vote was submitted by "Vazrazhdane" with the motive of the failure of the government's foreign policy. In the program "Speak Now" on BNT, the chairman of the parliamentary group of "Velichie" Ivelin Mihaylov stated that the topic was specifically chosen so that it could not unite the opposition.
"I will tell you why the topic was chosen like that. Because PP-DB is also an opposition party, and there was a possibility for APS to join this vote of no confidence, at least with "abstentions". We witnessed that on Tuesday they were deciding whether to support the government or not. They had a long meeting. PP-DB has a responsibility to its electorate. And their electorate has issues on which it cannot forgive their inaction. Because in Bulgaria the problem is not about Euro-Atlantics and Russophiles, but the problem in Bulgaria is the heavy mafia that has taken over the state at all levels. And PP-DB voters, the main thing that they support them for is their statement that they will fight this mafia. If the topic had been chosen - corruption, ecology, total collapse in ecology, then PP-DB would not have been able to refuse to support the vote of no confidence, because this government is undoubtedly not coping with the countless illegal dumps, the destruction of waters," believes Ivelin Mihaylov.

He announced that a new vote of no confidence against the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet is being prepared next week.

"I think that next week MECH will submit a vote of no confidence, because I also spoke with Radostin Vassilev. We also spoke with representatives of "Vazrazhdane". But MECH is ready to submit such a vote of no confidence, which is on the topic of corruption. And I think they will want to submit it. And we will have to unite, for example, behind a vote of no confidence, which MECH will introduce, "the leader of "Velichy" specified.

Mihaylov sees the failure to deal with illegal landfills as a problem in the government. He said that for four months "Velichy" has been reporting illegal landfills.

"Failing to fulfill a basic obligation means that you cannot govern," believes Ivelin Mihaylov.
