The dissatisfaction after the death of 12-year-old Siyana continues for another day. Today, a petition demanding the resignation of the chairman of the Management Board of the "Road Infrastructure" Agency has been launched in Pleven, BNT reports.
The child died on Monday on the Telish-Lukovit road, after the car in which he was traveling with his grandparents was hit by a TIR. After the accident, it became clear that serious accidents have been happening in the area for years, but no concrete measures have been taken. The protests continue. After Pleven and Blagoevgrad, they will also express their dissatisfaction in Varna today.
People want much harsher punishments for road violators and more systematic control, especially for speeding in dangerous areas. They also want to say no to corruption in public procurement and poor-quality repairs.
The grieving father of 12-year-old Siyana is also organizing two marches - next week, on Lazarus Day and Palm Sunday, in memory of the girl and against the murders on the road. They will take place in the village of Telish, Pleven region, and in Sofia.
