The Eurozone is an opportunity for us to brighten the economy at this moment, when it would be difficult to do otherwise, the co-chair of “We continue the change“ commented to journalists in Kardzhali Kiril Petkov, reported by BTA.
„Twenty-five billion gray capital, which is in Bulgarian leva, in cash, must be converted and some corrupt officials must go to the banks and have them converted and say where their money came from“, he also said.
According to Petkov, the thesis that prices will jump with the adoption of the euro is false, as he gave an example of countries that have already adopted the single European currency. According to him, at the first moment of the euro's entry, prices increase by less than 1 percent, but on the other hand, interest rates fall in many places because they become much less risky, tourism increases because many people choose to enter places where they do not have to exchange currency, and investments increase.
“I believe that this is one of the better things that should happen this year“, said Petkov, emphasizing the importance of the eurozone, adding that the party will wait for the date to submit its vote of no confidence, despite its dissatisfaction with the financial policy being pursued.
The co-chair of “We Continue the Change“ expressed doubt about the latest sociological surveys that assign them third place in a possible election. He also made another political comment, saying that “DPS-New Beginning“ is starting to “suck the blood of GERB“, and Vidin and Simitli were indicative of this.
Kiril Petkov was in Kardzhali with the MP from Shumen Ailin Pehlivanova for a meeting with sympathizers. Specifically for the region, he announced his intention to include the Kardzhali ring road, which has been talked about for decades, as a priority project in the state budget for 2026, but not simply as a potential expense, but as a project with a name and with specific funds.
