From today until April 16, traffic on one of the four lanes of the Northern Expressway in Sofia will be restricted, at the 12th km in the direction of Kalotina, in a 260-meter section, the “Road Infrastructure” Agency announced. (API).
The reasons are emergency repair work on expansion joints on the bridge over the Iskar River.
The movement will be gradually limited to one of the lanes and traffic will pass to the remaining three free ones.
API appeals to drivers to follow traffic rules and not undertake risky overtaking, which endangers the safety of all other travelers.
A map of the sections with a concentration of road accidents has been published on the API website. An Action Plan for securing the sections has also been published. It will be updated every week. The map and the plan are published in the specially created section “High-risk road sections“, so that citizens can quickly and easily familiarize themselves with the available data and monitor the implementation of the measures to secure the sections.
