The political party “Save Sofia“ announced that municipal councilors Boris Bonev, Plamena Terziradeva and arch. Rositsa Nikolova have submitted a report for assigning the graphic design of the Standard for Street Greening to Sofia Municipality.
The Standard developed by experts from the Forestry University aims to introduce clear and applicable rules for planning, designing, building and maintaining street greenery in Sofia, but without a graphic part, it cannot be adopted by the Sofia Municipal Council.
“Assigning the graphic design is an important step towards the implementation of the standard and improving the quality of street greenery in Sofia“, commented Plamena Terziradeva. “This will lead to better maintenance of green areas and an increase in the quality of life of Sofia residents“, she emphasized.
“Sofia needs a standard for street landscaping that will ensure sustainable and effective management of the green infrastructure“, said architect Rositsa Nikolova. “The graphic design is key to the implementation of the standard and will facilitate the work of designers, builders and the administration“, she added.
"Save Sofia" notes that in their election program they clearly state that the urban standards need to be supplemented as full-fledged documents guaranteeing a quality urban environment, given that this is also their main goal.
