Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) employees were killed in the serious accident near Montana, reports Bulgaria on air.
The impact occurred shortly after 12 p.m. on the international road E-79, a few kilometers from the city.
According to initial information, a taxi car, traveling in the direction of Vratsa, made a U-turn towards Montana and was hit by a garbage truck of the Municipal Enterprise in Montana, which was returning to the city.
In the impact, the three passengers – employees of the Bulgarian Red Cross in Montana, all three of them about 70 years old, died on the spot.
The taxi driver has a life-threatening head and chest injury.
"The driver of the truck was tested for alcohol and drugs, the tests were negative. The other driver has been issued with documents for a blood sample, because he is currently in intensive care, in serious condition. We hope that at least he will survive," said District Prosecutor Rosen Petrov.
