Today the questioning of witnesses begins, and Radeva's mother, her friend and Georgi Semerdzhiev have been summoned. At the moment, Radeva is free with a "signature" measure. She is accused that on July 5, 2022, in her capacity as a police officer from the First District Office, she helped Georgi Semerdzhiev and thwarted a criminal prosecution against him. According to the prosecution, she provided a metal ladder with which the man climbed up to the terrace of his apartment in Sofia, went inside and hid. Simona Radeva may receive from 2 to 8 years in prison.
Another hearing will be held in the case of the death of 14-year-old Philip, who was run over on a footpath on the capital's "Gurko" street. last September.
The trial continues with the hearing of witnesses. At the previous hearing, out of 11 witnesses who were scheduled to be heard by the magistrates, only two appeared. Five of the defaulters will be forcibly brought in for a hearing today. The defendant is 37-year-old Petar Todorov, who is accused of causing death with possible intent. According to the experts, he was driving at 88 km/h and with more than 2 percent of alcohol in his blood. After the accident, he was detained, but in February he was released under house arrest.
