However, a 27-year-old man drugged and criminally active puts a cross on the future of the whole family. His girlfriend stays forever at 19, he goes behind bars for a long time, and the baby is given up for adoption.
On June 16, 2017 at 8:25 p.m., a report was received in the Aytos Regional Office about the discovery of an unconscious young girl in a residence on ul. “Haji Dimitar”. The grandmother of the man with whom the seriously injured Iveta Tineva lives is calling. She was taken to the intensive care unit of UMBAL - Burgas with a diagnosis of “severe brain injury”.
At about 2.40 a.m., as a result of her injuries, she expired. For the heinous crime, the police arrested Tenyo Enchev from Sofia, with whom the young woman lived on a family basis in Aytos and with whom she has a child aged two years and eight months.
During the investigation, it becomes clear that violence in the seemingly happy family was almost a daily occurrence.
Teño often slapped Iveta, but she endured because of their infant son. Several times she even left him, but returned so that little Nasko would not be left without a father. On the fateful day, the two went for a walk and went to the shops so that the young woman could buy sandals.
They sat down to rest in a cafe in the city, drank a glass each, Tenyo lit a marijuana cigarette, and gave Iveta a drag. However, when they returned home, Tenyo attacked his partner. Later, before the court, his lawyer claimed that Enchev was enraged because when they got home, Iveta was dizzy, lit a regular tobacco cigarette and started blowing the smoke in the child's face.
Neighbors, who heard the scandal, claim that the child's dirty diaper, which Iveta did not change immediately, was the cause of the quarrel. The neighbors did not call the police, because a year ago, after yet another beating on Iveta, they called the emergency number 112, but when the police arrived, the young woman denied that Tenyo had assaulted her.
The scandals eventually subsided, evening fell, the abuser drank more and at one point again began to violently force Iveta with his fists, where he boiled. He didn't stop when she fell to the floor with a broken nose and knocked out teeth. When he got tired of beating her, he started kicking her, an examination later found severe injuries in the abdomen because the killer was wearing shoes.
During one of the sessions in court, his bloody clothes, which he was wearing during the brutal beating - black sneakers, short camouflage shorts and a T-shirt - were shown as material evidence.
Teño first told the arriving police officers that Iveta had fallen down the stairs and accused the emergency team of taking too long. Iveta's skull was literally crushed, pieces of it got into her brain. The young woman lost consciousness and died hours later, despite the doctors' attempts to save her.
“I hit her and she fell. She was lying on the ground unresponsive, I was worried that she was unconscious, I picked her up and put her on the bed, hugged her and cleaned the blood from her face.
I decided to call my grandmother for help first, quite instinctively, because I didn't realize how bad things were,” Enchev tells his version of what happened in front of his lawyer.
He wants a summary trial and pleads guilty. He did not plead for a lesser sentence, arguing that any punishment would be just. This is not Tenyo's first encounter with Themis. He was tried several times for theft, but decided to break with the criminal circles, start a family and start a new life in Aitos.
Enchev claims that Iveta was the love of his life and the tragedy happened because of a family scandal. He loved little Nasco very much. The Director of the "Social Assistance" Directorate; in Aytos, Penka Dobreva claims that the child is looked after with love and there are no signs of violence.
“I was with him. I brought him toys, we drew together. It was very playful, it didn't even want me to leave. He is a watched and loved child. The town is small, we have often seen the three of them walking, we have talked with them. In no way did they suggest with their behavior that there was a problem," Dobreva said after the tragedy. The boy was adopted by relatives and now has a different surname.
During the case, the killer received dozens of death threats and oaths on his social media profile. And he asked to remain in custody until his sentence is pronounced. The mother of the victim - Dimitrinka Tineva, called on all girls who are bullied not to remain silent like her daughter, but to seek help.
The district court in Burgas sent the murderer behind bars for 25 years. The appellate and supreme magistrates upheld the sentence. Enchev got away with life imprisonment only because he pleaded guilty and his sentence was reduced by 1/3.
At the beginning of the case, the relatives of the murdered 19-year-old girl demanded more than 500 thousand BGN compensation for non-property damages. However, Tenyo was sentenced to pay 200,000 BGN to his minor son and 150,000 BGN to the mother of the murdered Iveta.
In their reasons, the judges indicate that the victim was systematically abused mentally and physically during her cohabitation with the convict. The murder was carried out with extreme cruelty. Enchev brutally hit and kicked Iveta for half an hour until she, all disfigured, lost consciousness and the injuries led to her death.
