The Spanish Royal Football Federation rejected the appeals of Barcelona and Osasuna regarding the newly appointed date for the clash of the 27th round between the two teams, which was originally supposed to take place on March 8, but was postponed at the last minute due to the death of one of the Catalans' doctors, sportal.bg reported.
Three days ago, the federation scheduled the new date for the match to be March 27, Thursday. However, the two clubs opposed this decision because this is only two days after the last matches of the respective national teams. Thus, Barcelona will most likely be without Rafinha and Ronald Araujo, since Brazil and Argentina play on the night of March 26, and a few hours earlier Uruguay is visiting Bolivia. The Pamplona team also has one international for whom this match could be a challenge - Enzo Boyomo, who will be involved with the Cameroon national team in Libya.
Osasuna was also scheduled to play on March 28 against Athletic Bilbao, but this match has now been postponed to March 30.
Due to Barcelona's continued participation in the Champions League and the King's Cup, the only other option was for this match to be played between the penultimate and final rounds of the championship. However, La Liga does not accept this option because it would violate the integrity of the competition, given that they want the governing body to play the last two rounds under completely equal conditions and for all matches to start at the same time.
