Kremlin continues nuclear exercises! Russian army trains with Yars mobile missile launchers - 1

Russia conducts mobile nuclear missile drills "Yars" installations, Russian media reported, quoted by Reuters.

This is the second such exercise in less than a month. The crews of the missile launchers in the Volga River basin, about 700 kilometers east of Moscow, will move over 100 kilometers and practice camouflage and deployment, the Interfax news agency reported.

The exercises follow a similar exercise since early July and come less than two months after joint tactical nuclear exercises involving Russia and Belarus.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the military in May to train in the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in response to a threat from the West.

The "Yars" can hit targets at a distance of 11,000 kilometers and can be mounted on trucks or located in silos.

Putin says Moscow does not need to use nuclear weapons to secure victory in Ukraine, but added that he is not ruling out changes in the country's nuclear doctrine.

Since the invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, Russia has conducted numerous military exercises on its own or with other countries, including China and South Africa, as well as enhanced military training with Belarus.
