Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, said that after the drone strike near the plant on August 17, the nuclear security situation at the occupied Zaporizhia nuclear power plant is deteriorating.
Representatives of the IAEA mission have been notified of a drone strike that took place behind the headquarters security area.
The drone is said to have exploded near the cooling pools and about 100 meters from the "Dnepr" power line. - the only 750 kilovolt (kV) power line that provides power to the NPP.
The IAEA team visited the accident site and noted damage possibly caused by an unmanned aircraft rigged with explosives. There were no casualties or damage to the plant's equipment, but the impact occurred on the road between the two portals of the NPP, the organization announced.
Grossi called on the parties to respect the five specific principles established to protect the NPP.
Simultaneously with Grossi's statement, the spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry accused the Ukrainian forces of provocation regarding the security of the Kursk NPP.
