The intensity of Russian attacks on the southern front has noticeably decreased in recent days - this was said by Dmitry Likhovei, press officer of the group "Tavria" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, quoted by "BBC".
"Military action is declining. If we are talking about the region of Zaporizhia, that is, about the Orekhovo and Gulyai-Poland directions, there have been no clashes for the third day already. As for the Russian attacks on the ground, today from the beginning of the day until 16:00, no attempts to attack the enemy were registered," Ukrinform agency quoted Likhovei as saying.
According to the military, the Russians continue to try to attack the bridgeheads that the Ukrainian army holds on the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region, but these are small attacks - with up to one squad and no armored vehicles.
At the same time, according to Likhovei, the Russian air force continues to carry out attacks with planning bombs, with six recorded on Monday.
Likhovei, judging by the Ukrinform report, did not say whether the decrease in the intensity of hostilities in the south was related to the fighting in the Kursk region.
