Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said today that "if Israel does not stop its crimes", the Jewish state will receive a harsh response, Reuters reported. He spoke a day after Iran launched a missile attack on Israel, and Israel sent troops to Lebanon to fight Tehran-backed Hezbollah, BTA reported.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would retaliate against Iran after the missile attack.

"If the Zionist regime (Israel) does not stop its crimes, it will suffer severe consequences," Pezeshkian said before his trip to Qatar, state media reported.

Pezeshkian told state television that his first goal in Doha was to discuss bilateral relations and sign agreements with the Qatari government. He will also participate in a meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue.

"The second goal is to discuss how Asian countries can prevent Israeli crimes in the region and prevent enemies from causing unrest in the Middle East," Pezeshkian said.
