Seismic activity in the Aegean Sea between the Greek islands of Santorini and Amorgos continues today, with earthquakes with a magnitude between 4 and 4.9 on the Richter scale being recorded, the Greek news agency ANA-MPA reported, quoted by BTA.

Seismic activity in the area of the two islands began in late January, and the epicenters of the earthquakes gradually approached Amorgos, near the southern town of Arkesini on the island.

The strongest earthquake registered today by the Institute of Geodynamics at the National Observatory in Athens occurred at 11 a.m. at sea 26 km southwest of Arkesini with a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale.
