A two-day strike by the Verdi union is slowing down work at Munich airport, Reuters reports. The protest actions began on February 27 and will continue the next day, News.bg reports.
Because of the strike, airlines have canceled nearly 80% of flights to and from Munich. Germany's second-largest airport hub announced on its website that there is a risk of further canceled flights and urged passengers planning to travel through Munich to contact their airlines for updated information.
The Verdi union has organized several strikes in Germany since the start of negotiations for higher wages in January.
