United States President Donald Trump is "ready to listen", unlike his predecessor Joe Biden, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, News.bg reports.
"We see that President Trump is actively communicating and is open to listening to different opinions. This is a key and fundamental difference between the current administration in Washington and the previous one," he stressed.
Peskov specified that "no one expects easy and quick solutions", but noted that "if the political will between Russia and the United States is maintained, conditions will be created for resolving the conflict in Ukraine".
The Kremlin spokesman also confirmed that a meeting between Russian and American diplomats was taking place in Istanbul, which began at 10:00 local time. He specified that the purpose of the talks was to develop the understanding reached in the telephone conversation between the two presidents, as well as to discuss the agreements reached in Riyadh.
The results of the meeting will be announced later.
