US President Donald Trump will make a decision on tariff policies for all countries, including Mexico and Canada, after the publication of a study on April 1st. This was stated by the White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett, quoted by "Reuters".
He pointed out that yesterday Trump extended the deadline for the tariffs, noting that "we will deal with Mexico and Canada probably at the same time as we deal with everything else".
"According to the schedule, on April 1, a study will come out and then the president will decide what to do about tariff policies for all countries," he added.
Separately, Hassett mentioned that yesterday he held his first "big" meeting with other White House leaders, at which the next stage of the House reconciliation package was discussed.
Earlier, Trump announced that the tariffs, which were to be introduced for Canada and Mexico on March 4, will take effect on April 2. He also noted that a 25% tariff would be imposed on cars from the European Union, without specifying a specific date.
