French President Emmanuel Macron has convinced his American counterpart Donald Trump to reverse his initial decision to cancel Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington, reports citing a French diplomatic source.
According to information, yesterday the US administration informed the Ukrainian president not to come to the country. Zelensky then contacted Macron, who personally called Trump, assured him of Zelensky's intentions and supported him.
After the phone call, Trump agreed to the meeting. So yesterday he announced that he would receive Zelensky at the White House tomorrow, February 28.
The visit will coincide with the signing of an agreement on rare earth metals between the two countries.
Zelensky also confirmed his upcoming trip, emphasizing the importance of Washington's continued support for Kiev.
