The Bulgarian self-propelled mortar "Tundzha" has been spotted for the first time in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The corresponding video was spotted by the Telegram channel of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies. The video shows a shot from a mortar mounted on a tracked armored personnel carrier MT-LB. It is noted that the vehicle in the clip is a Bulgarian "Tundzha".
In the late 1960s, the USSR developed a variant for mounting a 120 mm mortar on the MT-LB chassis, but the vehicle was not adopted by the Soviet Army due to the development of the 2A51 mortar.
In the late 1970s, this concept was implemented in Bulgaria under the name SMM B1.10 Tundzha, armed with a Soviet M-120 mortar.
