The United States intends to organize direct negotiations between the parties to the conflict in Ukraine within the next 100 days, said US Vice President J. D. Vance.

“We have a peace proposal and we will do the hard work over the next 100 days to get the parties to the negotiating table“, he told Fox News.

At the same time, Vance pointed out, work must be done to bring the positions of Moscow and Kiev closer together, since "there is a very large gap between what the Russians want and what the Ukrainians want".

Meanwhile, Kiev has imposed sanctions on nine journalists, bloggers and political experts, including former adviser to the Ukrainian president Oleksiy Arestovich.

Sanctions have been imposed on Russian journalists Stanislav Bernwald and Anastasia Kashevarova, the chairwoman of the banned Ukrainian party "Derzhava" Dmitry Vasylets, the deputy chairman of this party Oleksandr Semchenko, political scientists Konstantin Bondarenko, Oleksandr Skubchenko, Pavel Onishchenko and blogger Myroslav Oleshko.

Two other decrees imposed sanctions on Alexei Azarov, son of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, and 66 other people.

In addition, 81 companies became subject to sanctions, including Novatek, Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plants, Magnitogorsk Electrode Plant, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, a number of other industrial enterprises, funds involved in social projects and support for servicemen, volunteer and veteran organizations.

The sanctions are imposed for a period of 10 years. They include the blocking of assets on Ukrainian territory, the withdrawal of licenses, a ban on the transfer of intellectual property, the termination of trade agreements and the withdrawal of all Ukrainian state awards.
