The stability of the market of new cars in the European Union shows some not particularly optimistic processes in the economy of the participating countries. According to ACEA, car sales in the EU are at a standstill, in October the demand for new cars increased by only 0.1%.
During the month, 866,400 new cars were registered on the EU markets. This time, of the main markets of the union, Spain showed the biggest growth (7%), while Germany recovered with a growth of 6% after three months of decline. At the same time, a decline in user activity was reported in France (-11%) and Italy (-9.1%).
Registration of new cars in the EU by power source:
Hybrids (HEV and PHEV) - 355,124 (+11.9%);
Gasoline cars - 266498 pcs. (-6.8%);
Electric vehicles (BEV) - 124,907 units. (+2.4%);
Diesel cars - 94,587 (-7.6%);
Others - 25,281 (-13%).
According to the results of October 2024, the market of new passenger cars in the EU grew by only 0.7% on an annual basis - up to 8,856,195 units.
