Subaru sets all-time U.S. car sales record - 1

March 2025 was a landmark month for Subaru - the company sold 71,478 vehicles in the U.S. alone, which is 16.6% more than in the same period in 2024. This is a new all-time record, surpassing the previous figure of 70,039 units, set in August 2019.

In the first quarter of 2025, Subaru sold 166,957 vehicles, which is an increase of 9.1% compared to the same period last year.

Subaru's best-selling model in March is the Forester - the company sold 22,570 units, which is 7.3% more than a year earlier. Other crossovers also showed growth momentum: Crosstrek added 25.1% (18,169 cars), and Outback showed an impressive growth of 29.9% (17,539 units). For Crosstrek, this was the most successful March in the model's history.

The real breakthrough was the electric Subaru Solterra, which showed an impressive growth of 158.7% - 1,154 units were sold in March. This increase was due to a price reduction of $ 6,500 for the 2025 model year versions, which made the electric crossover more accessible to consumers. Despite the positive dynamics, however, Solterra still lags behind competitors - for example, Hyundai Ioniq 5 showed a growth of 17% and remains one of the most successful electric cars in the segment.

Another unexpected success was the Legacy sedan, which will soon be discontinued. Thanks to increased interest in the model in recent months, Legacy sales increased by 53.2% in March and by 32% since the beginning of the year.

However, not all Subaru models managed to boast growth. Sales of the giant Ascent crossover fell by 11.4% - only 4,584 units were sold in March. The WRX sports sedan with a 271-horsepower turbo engine suffered even more, with demand for it falling by 16.2% (1,539 units).

Despite the decline in individual models, however, the overall trend for Subaru remains very positive. The company continues to increase sales, and the growth of electric vehicles signals its readiness for future changes in the market.
