„People understood what happened on September 9. For those who are not – I'll say it simply: on September 9, Peevski bought BSP. Never before has the court ruled in such a short time. Which raises doubts”.
This was stated to EuroNews by the People's Representative from the BSP for Bulgaria. Hristo Prodanov in his comment on the Supreme Court's decision in the case of the registration of the chairman of the BSP.
He recalled that in the same case – resignation and congress, in 2022 the court says that the resignation of the chairman of the BSP, as it is according to the Statute, must be ascertained at a congress, and now it says the opposite – that the resignation should not be ascertained. “Despite the fact that the prosecutor's office in the court session came out with the opinion that it is illegal to enter in the CGS – when a resignation has been submitted and when it has not been ascertained by the Congress”, pointed out Prodanov.
The socialist was categorical: “It is not a question of fighting for BSP, but of fighting against the parallel state. Until we deal with this system, while Borisov and Peevski set the state's agenda, we will be standing still. And BSP till that time was the only party which was not accessible to these people. "Unfortunately, on September 9, the merchants moved into the temple," Prodanov pointed out. And he continued:
„For this parallel country, Cornelia Ninova is inconvenient. She did not fit the puzzle of Borisov and Peevski and had to be replaced with someone who was comfortable and obedient. They say “the people of Nineveh” – we are BSP people. For us, it is important not just who is the president, but the policy that this president leads, the direction to which BSPis leading. The fight against the parallel state is Cornelia Ninova's fight. She did everything possible to keep the BSP from being controlled. And we are true to that“, the socialist declared and added:
“We are talking about Peevski. Who proposed Peevski as head of DANS? Stanishev. And now he is the leader of the list in the new left alliance. Maya Manolova said that she suggested Peevski, but we all know it was Stanishev”, Prodanov added.
Hristo Prodanov was categorical: “You will not see us in other lists. Yes, we've had offers, but we've declined. Cornelia Ninova is a politician with morals and dignity. For her, it is not an end in itself – and this proved to be an MP or MEP. It's no secret that Borisov offered her the highest post in the state – of the Speaker of the National Assembly. It's no secret that she, as the chairman of the BSP, could have been the leader of the Eurolist and today be an MEP. When asked if he will be a candidate from the lists of the new left unity, Prodanov answered: “ With Maya Manolova and Stanishev – no thanks”.
“Many people are outraged by what is happening in the BSP. Socialists do not like betrayal. And the deputies of Nineveh, who stood on her left and on her right, committed treason. Those with whom they now form a left alliance also betrayed the BSP years ago. Now, what will the band of traitors do – I can't predict” concluded Hristo Prodanov.
