Although the UN Summit just ended, the Security Council must meet soon because we are on the brink of a global war in the Middle East. This comments Vice President Iliana Yotova addressed journalists before the opening of the academic year of the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", broadcast by BTA.
Iotova congratulated the Bulgarian institutions “for the lightning reaction yesterday” and for the fact that they managed to evacuate many of the Bulgarians living in Lebanon. "89 compatriots were evacuated with the flight that took place today,", acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev told journalists yesterday, after at Sofia Airport the government plane landed with the first group of Bulgarians from Lebanon.
Everything possible will be done for our compatriots who want to return to Bulgaria to do so, assured Yotova and noted that there are also people, doctors, who want to stay at their combat post.
That will be decided by the president, Yotova answered when asked if Rumen Radev would convene an Advisory Council for National Security. The head of state has been informed and will make his decisions, together with the other institutions, Iliana Yotova added.
