Nadezhda Yordanova: Our declaration offers priorities for the work of the National Assembly - 1

The Speaker of the National Assembly is elected by a majority, which can solve anti-corruption issues in Bulgaria. This excludes Peevski. This comments in “The day begins“ Nadezhda Yordanova from PP-DB.

"The President of the National Assembly is elected by a majority and he must stand behind clear priorities of the National Assembly. Our declaration proposes priorities for the work of the National Assembly. This requires a majority, and why is it anti-Peevski, because the majority, which can solve anti-corruption issues in Bulgaria, excludes Peevski", said Nadezhda Yordanova from PP-DB.

She explained that the PP-DB declaration in question was sent to all parties, but they did not receive a clear answer from GERB.

"After Borisov said that he will not work with either Peevski or Dogan, what is the problem of signing a politically bound agreement. Whatever the format – declaration or something else, we are ready to talk", commented Nadezhda Yordanova.

In this regard, he emphasized that it is important for communication to proceed well and he does not know of a telephone conversation between Borisov and Atanasov.

"Telephone democracy does not work. Informal conversations are important, but they cannot exhaust the democratic process. Bulgaria is a parliamentary republic. Yes, GERB won the parliamentary elections, they are the first political force, but we are not part of the song "The winner takes all". A majority must be formed and we say what our priorities are in order to enter such a majority," Yordanova said.

In her words, it is important to start freeing institutions from corrupt influences, because otherwise the problem cannot be solved.

"Our declaration sought to put this issue on the table and say we must elect a Speaker of the National Assembly. The first political force has the right to nominate its candidate, but it must find a majority," Yordanova said.

Regarding the US elections, Yordanova commented that she respects the vote of the citizens of the United States.

„ I respect the choice and hope that power will be transferred peacefully to the united states. I will work for Bulgaria to have its place in the democratic family in the world," commented the PP-DB politician.
