Boyko Borisov: Sylvester Stallone to advertise the abolition of visas for Bulgaria - 1

The leader of GERBBoyko Borisov suggested that Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone become the face of Bulgaria in the campaign for the abolition of the visa regime with the USA. This became clear from a statement by Borisov on the sidelines of parliament.

His comment comes after the scandal surrounding the participation of Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova in the campaign "You don't need an Oscar to get a visa for the USA".

"As far as the minister informed me on the subject, the contract with Ivan and Andrey's company was concluded during the caretaker government. The campaign should contribute to Trump's promise, made during my visit - that Bulgarians will travel visa-free, like all other European countries", said Boyko Borisov.

Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev recently met with Maria Bakalova and posted photos from the meeting on social media. "I thank Maria Bakalova for becoming the face of the campaign. We aim to reduce visa refusals to below 3 percent", Minister Georgiev wrote.

Bakalova's choice caused sharp reactions, as the actress starred in the film "The Intern", where she played the role of Ivana Trump. Before that, she also starred in the film "Borat 2", where she participated in a controversial scene with Rudolf Giuliani.

Former constitutional judge Georgi Markov described the choice as "a disgrace" and "a joke with Donald Trump". He also recalled Trump's negative reaction to the movie "The Intern".
