Alexander Simov: Change in the BSP can now begin. I am satisfied with the choice of Zafirov - 1

I am satisfied with the choice of the BSP leader. Over the past 4 years, the party had turned into a hierarchical structure. There is real intra-party democracy in the BSP. Change in the party can now begin. This was stated by Alexander Simov in "Face to Face" on bTV, quoted by novini.bg.
It was necessary to solve the problem with the BSP leader. Hopefully the BSP will have strength, because Bulgaria needs a strong left. It will not be easy for them because they are in a coalition with Borisov, said political scientist Slavi Vassilev.

Simov emphasized that there is a parallel state and it is a problem, but it is not to blame for everything.
„The parallel state is a fact. Atanas Zafirov wants to make the BSP part of the ruling parties. We are witnessing new geopolitical realities. First, we must realize that Russia won and Ukraine lost. Despite the sanctions and military aid worth billions, Russia continues to advance. Only President Rumen Radev said that there is no military solution to the conflict and this is the new reality that we must accept - whether we like it or not. If we want Bulgaria to be part of the multipolar world, we must come to terms with reality and be open to the world - as it is,“ explained the political scientist.

“The instillation of the theses that Russia will attack Moldova or Bulgaria is untenable. Russia took these actions to protect its interests, which were threatened. Russia will not accept Ukraine being a NATO rear base. There can be no peace in Europe without respecting Russia's interests and taking advantage of its resources“, believes Slavi Vassilev.

The quadruple coalition is still in its infancy and we cannot say whether it will be successful so early. This government must answer many questions, said Simov.

This coalition is under great pressure. I hope it succeeds. I hope we are open to new realities, the political scientist added.

„If Zafirov does not now oppose Borisov's thesis about selling the reactors for the „Belene“ NPP, this would be a signal that the BSP has no place in this coalition,“ Vassilev pointed out.
