In Rome, tourists tried to storm the Colosseum, which was closed due to the visit of the US Vice President J.D. Vance, reports the newspaper La Repubblica.
The reason for the dissatisfaction of the travelers is the cancellation of all visits on April 19 between 17:00 and 18:15 local time. "They did not warn us about this in advance, but they promised to refund the money for the tickets", the dissatisfied said.
The tourists decided to break through the fences on the territory of the attraction themselves. With tickets in hand, they opened the turnstiles and approached the main gate, where they were stopped by security. Outraged visitors demanded to be allowed inside.
Colosseum officials apologized for the incident and explained the reasons for the closure, but some travelers were unhappy because they had to leave Italy the same day.
