The French company "Alstom" will deliver 35 electric multiple units with money under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Grozdan Karadjov in response to a question posed by MP Ivan Kyuchukov from "There is such a people", in connection with the order for 35 multiple units, "Focus" reports.
"When I took office, the investment projects under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan were in a very final, critical phase. There was very little time left for them to be implemented. The most critical of them is the one for 35 railcars, which are planned to renew the fleet of "Passenger Transport".
Why was it late? Because when in December the court decided to cancel the previous work of the commission for the selection of a contractor, it returned it almost to the initial phase, where evidence must be explicitly stated as to the deadline for its implementation", said the Deputy Prime Minister, presenting the chronology of events.
Grozdan Karadjov explained that upon assuming the post of Minister of Transport and Communications, questions were sent to the candidates within the first week regarding the production and delivery of the trains.
"Such evidence was missing for this order, so we sent questions and received answers and received a response from the candidates to deliver 35 electric multiple unit trains. These answers were not sufficient as information, they were too short and laconic. That's why we sent a second questionnaire, now with more detailed sub-questions on the schedule and evidence that it can be completed in 28 months," he said.
And he continued, announcing the news that the company that only stated that it could complete the order in the relevant time interval was selected:
"The answers were received last week. In them, unfortunately, only one of the candidates answered that it could complete these 35 multiple unit trains within the 28-month period. The commission selected this candidate. The French company "Alstom" was selected, which is one of the top three in the world and Europe," Karadjov said.
