Nobody is pulling our strings. We are an independent parliamentary group. From the very beginning, we entered this government so that the country would be stable, so that there would be a budget with a focus on our membership in the eurozone and also so that the “Peevski“ model would be dismantled. We will not be a fig leaf. Every time we come across such a type of dependence, which this model reflects in Bulgarian political life, we cannot remain silent. This was stated by Valentin Tonchev from the DPS-DPS, quoted by novini.bg.
„There is no developed democracy in which the opposition supposedly supports the budget at first reading. Moreover - in the dark ages they defended this budget. For us, this speaks of very strong dependencies and tight agreements“, the MP believes.
The party rejects the speculations of the other three parties in the cabinet: „We call on Kostadin Angelov, as the chairman of the SSU, to pull out absolutely all the minutes and audio recordings from the council and find out whether we insisted on positions, whether we twisted our arms. There are many spicy statements there, but they certainly do not belong to the DPS-DPS. We have zero appointments.“
“We support the governing majority. There is nothing to leave if we are not part of it. That is why we want joint responsibility. We will make our constructive proposals between the first and second reading of the budget. But if we are not asked to implement the policies that are set out in the budget, you cannot expect us to be a joint participant in this government. If it has influence and the three other parties cannot refute it, it is obvious why we will not continue our support“, Tonchev added.
