I don't think there is a need for a plan B. DPS-DPS clearly said that they support the government and will not leave the government. This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by Kostadin Angelov from GERB-SDS, Chairman of the Joint Governance Council.
"The coalition is really very unstable. It is difficult to work in a state of constant alarm", he pointed out.
Regarding the criticism of the budget, Angelov noted that it was discussed in the SSU. "At the table, DPS-DPS did not say a single word against this budget. On the contrary - they supported it. What puzzles, worries and saddens us is that these representatives of the DPS-DPS speak with the rhetoric of the PP. For us, this is incomprehensible and we do not understand such a type of behavior", he commented on the program "Nedelya 150".
As for the appointments, Kostadin Angelov reminded of the time of the negotiations, when it was agreed that the DPS-DPS would not have ministers in the cabinet. However, it was agreed that the party would have deputy ministers, and they would be from the BSP-OL quota, i.e. BSP-OL must agree and accept the candidacies given by the DPS-DPS, explained the chairman of the SSU.
"They took both candidacies from the BSP. As of today, we do not have a decision from the BSP on these appointments. Regarding the third appointment for deputy minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Mr. Valentin Tonchev – during their election campaign there was a clip that contained anti-Israeli language, hate speech. This is what bothers us. There are doubts. We would in no way allow ourselves to cast a shadow on our strategic partnership with the state of Israel. That is why we have concerns about this candidacy and we have stated it at the negotiating table – DPS-DPS to present a new candidacy that would be acceptable to all our foreign policy partners".
Kostadin Angelov denied that there were any talks with the DB for support of the majority. We are not holding talks for support with any political party, outside of those in the majority, he was categorical.
He emphasized that there were 11 lies in what the co-chair of the PP-DB, Asen Vassilev, said. "After he gave himself the Christmas tree, all his calculations are wrong", he believes and listed:
"These 7 billion go to pay the bills of Asen Vassilev and the devastation he caused during his administration. First - 1.5 billion go to BEH, because Vassilev bled BEH during his administration and took enough funds from BEH. Why are they needed - we have a decision to build new energy capacities. This project is long-term. That is why this money was allocated. The energy system and security of Bulgaria should not be questioned. That is precisely why we must capitalize the BEH bled by Asen Vassilev, so that we can calmly manage the Bulgarian energy sector".
Angelov also noted the capitalization of BDB with 4 billion All cities in Bulgaria are flooded with projects, he emphasized and explained that this is where this money will go:
"Assen Vassilev made sure that all municipalities submitted projects within the framework of about 7 billion. Against these 7 billion, there was 500 million, i.e. all municipalities were misled that they could do projects for 7 billion and they started these projects. Now these projects are about to be implemented. We have invoices for 1.5 billion, but we have activity for 4.7 billion, which is unpaid. These invoices are only the advances of these projects. Now in order for these projects to be completed, we need to find money to pay them".
The GERB MP also gave examples in defense. According to him, with some of his actions in the plenary hall, Asen Vassilev served Russia.
"I doubt that this person really wants Bulgaria to enter the eurozone".
"For February, the state budget has a deficit of 1.6 billion. If we continue without having a voted budget, we will accumulate 1.5 - 1.6 billion next month, next month... This means that everyone who does not vote for this budget, everyone who delays this budget, including the PP-DB, are doing 2 things. First - they are working to form a large deficit, which means that debt must be incurred to pay it. Second - they are moving Bulgaria away from the eurozone".
Kostadin Angelov pointed out that when they were in government with the PP-DB, they stopped some of Vassilev's proposals, which were dangerous. Not all decisions were passed with our votes, he emphasized, but noted that there was no way they could leave the country without a budget.
"We have been their corrective all along. At that moment, Bulgaria had no other option but to make the so-called assembly, in order to have at least a small degree of security. Otherwise, the free fall would have hit us seriously at the bottom".
