During a specialized police operation to combat crime in Dobrich district, two criminals were arrested yesterday, and electric detonator capsules, TNT and various ammunition were found in their car. One of the detainees was declared a state-wide wanted person. This was announced by the press center of the Regional Directorate (RD) of the Ministry of Interior Dobrich.
During the operation, temporary checkpoints were organized at the exit from Dobrich to Varna, BTA specified. During the operation, police officers attempted to stop a "Citroen" car, which deviated from its direction and attempted to evade inspection. The vehicle was stopped by teams of the Criminal Police at the RD of the Ministry of Interior Dobrich and the "Criminal Police" sector at the First Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior Dobrich. Two criminally active men aged 60 and 58 were detained. A search of the Ministry of Interior's information files revealed that the 58-year-old man was declared a state-wide wanted man by the General Directorate of the "National Police" (GDNP) Sofia and a "detention in custody" measure was imposed.
During the subsequent procedural investigative actions, two cylindrical TNT pellets, four electric detonators and various types of ammunition were found in the luggage compartment of the car. Assistance was sought from teams of "Gendarmerie, Special Operations and Combating Terrorism" - Varna.
The teams jointly seized the explosives in accordance with the due procedure. In the course of working on hot leads, searches of properties inhabited by the detained men also followed. During the inspection of a private property in the village of Tsarevets, Dobrich region, a specially constructed cache of modified long-barreled weapons and ammunition was found.
The work to establish and document the criminal activity of the detainees continues.
