A charred body was found at the scene of the fire in the Plovdiv region "Yuzhen", the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Plovdiv announced. The fire has already been extinguished.
Employees from the First Regional Directorate are clarifying the causes of the fire that broke out in a residential building on "Yagoda" Street. The identity of the deceased is yet to be clarified. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
The head of the "Preventive and Control Activity" sector, Ch. Inspector Petar Toskov told journalists that the fire was reported at 7:45 a.m., and firefighters who arrived on the scene found that the third floor of a housing cooperative was on fire. According to him, the fire was extinguished promptly, with damage only to the burning apartment. There was no problem evacuating the remaining residents. The police are continuing to investigate the case.
