Yesterday, during the previously announced test of the BG-Alert system, the residents of the Yambol village of Voden, which was burned down in the summer, again did not receive messages on their mobile phones, BNT revealed.
At 11 a.m., only the sirens with a voice warning in the town of Bolyarovo were activated, but mass messages were not received, neither in the town nor in the other settlements of the municipality. According to the locals, the problem is again the lack of coverage and they are calling on the authorities to take serious measures.
"Yesterday's training can be said that the signal was again not received in the border settlements. I was in the area of Voden and Malko Sharkovo between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m. - neither the mayors nor the residents of these settlements have received messages", explained Hristo Hristov - mayor of Bolyarovo.
In the town of Bolyarovo itself, all the sirens worked normally, but the BG-Alert system - not.
"I can't say what the reasons are - maybe the different operators act differently. The operators remain debtors, regardless of who they are. The problem was partially solved after the fires last summer, a commitment was made, it was partially decided to one or two villages, but the problem remains", added the mayor.
Despite the concerns of the mayor and the people, the director of the Yambol fire department commented to BNT that yesterday's test in the area was successful, and where it did not work, there was no coverage or people's devices were not set up. He assured that in the event of an emergency, all people will receive notifications.
