Parvan Simeonov: This government's chance is that the opposition is very divided - 1

The vote of no confidence in the government, submitted by MECH, is beneficial for both parties, because MECH is using the acceleration that Natalia Kiselova's move gave them. The vote will not pass. It is interesting to observe this cooperation of Radostin, Kostadin and Ivelin, this synchronization of the formations is curious, commented sociologist Parvan Simeonov from the "Myara" agency in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.

In the program "12+3" he commented on the vote submitted by MECH, as well as what can be expected.

Simeonov recalled that years ago, when 3 nationalist formations "Ataka", VMRO and NFSB stood behind a common goal - the candidacy of Krasimir Karakachanov as a presidential candidate, he collected 570,000 votes. And in the previous presidential elections he received about 30,000 votes.

And that is why the founder of the sociological agency "Myara" believes that these actions with a vote of no confidence may turn out to be a kind of synchronization for the future.

"All three leaders have egos, but it is interesting to observe the radical sector. They are different, but they are competing for the same electorate. I wonder if they ever stand behind something in common in a presidential election," he shared.

According to him, what the vote does is outline the broad governing niche, which is from PP-DB to "DPS-New Beginning" and "illuminates the real support for this government":

"Seemingly, Boyko Borisov can choose between pro-Europeans and Balkans. "DPS-New Beginning" is an inevitability for this government, while PP-DB can be avoided."
And he thinks that what we have as topics is a bit strange, and the "Borisov-Peevski" governance model has been known for many years.

"The fact that there is a new government does not mean a new governance model. If we ask people when to ask for a vote of no confidence for corruption, they will say "give it now". But that's what the opposition is for. The problem is that some accusations have been piled up against this government for the sins of previous governments – for smuggling channels, for example", explained Parvan Simeonov.

And he believes that "this government's chance is that the opposition is very divided:

"Imagine how difficult it is for the APS to leave the government, the battle for the MRF has been definitively won by Peevski and how difficult it is for Peevski to stand against this government. The question is whether Borisov will want to reformat the government, because he is hardly satisfied with his role."

He warned that those who advise Borisov to run for president are doing him a disservice.

Simeonov also commented on the gathering civic energy:

"The Siyana case and many others like it show how frayed the nerves of Bulgarians are. They accepted with relief that there is a government, but any excess of power and rebellion of peoples around us increases the expectation that they will unleash some protest sentiments in our country. It may not be justified, because in 2020 we ran out of steam. But outside of politics, the case may erupt into anti-government sentiment."

And he recalled that the civic energy of 2020 It's not gone, it just hasn't found an owner.
