GERB leader Boyko Borisov declared a "total purge" of all those involved in the case from November last year, when an attempt was made to thwart an operation to break up a cigarette smuggling channel.
He was categorical that Interior Minister Daniel Mitov would be heard in the National Assembly to reveal appointments made under pressure from Plamen Uzunov, former acting Interior Minister in the cabinet of Ognyan Gerdzhikov and Secretary for Legal Affairs and Anti-Corruption of President Rumen Radev.
"They should be smeared there, fired to the bone. Ministry of Interior, Customs, Tax, everything that was appointed by Asen Vassilev in the last 4 years. You think we will hide from Dani Mitov not to answer who, whom and how he appointed, that Plamen Uzunov appointed everything in Plovdiv. Nasko Ilkov the only thing he changed was in Plovdiv to put Plamen Uzunov's person. Everyone will come - police officers, headed by their minister, chief secretary and they will answer who appointed them. Dani Mitov did not appoint anyone, the operation was from November, "said Borisov.
When asked by BNR whether there is information about the smuggling channel's connection with Taki and Delyan Peevski, Borisov quoted a statement from a media appearance by Atanas Atanasov, in which he stated that he did not know about such a connection.
