The Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov opened the charity bazaar “Decorate your Easter with a cause“.
The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, featured handmade souvenirs and Easter treats from social enterprises that provide jobs to people from vulnerable groups, foundations with various causes. The elderly artists from the Home for the Elderly “Veneta Boteva“ sent their unique panels in support of the young talents from the National High School of Applied Arts “Trevnenska Shkola“. The funds from their sale will be donated to the reconstruction of the school damaged by the fire.
„I would like to specially thank the Home for the Elderly „Veneta Boteva“ in Veliko Tarnovo. They sent their panels and expressed their desire for all funds to go towards the reconstruction of the Tryavna School“, said Minister Gutsanov at the opening. „We are used to young people helping the elderly, now it is the other way around. There must be this connection between the generations“, he added.
The Minister noted that only the works are present at the bazaar, but not the representatives of the Home, but the reason for this is positive. „The Home for the Elderly „Veneta Boteva“ is one of these 81 homes that will be renovated under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and people are currently being relocated until the renovation work is completed“, he commented.
The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Georgi Sultanov. “I want to express my gratitude to all of you. We are doing everything possible to restore the National High School of Applied Arts “Trevnenska Shkola“, which over the years has produced many prominent and talented artists, woodcarvers and icon painters. We are extremely pleased with your involvement, because all these funds will be supplemented by the funds that the Ministry of Culture and other organizations will provide. We continue to make efforts and until this project is completed, we will not give up and give up. We have the support of society in your person, as well as all institutions“, said Deputy Minister of Culture Sultanov.
