PP for the 100 days of the "New Beginning" coalition: Bulgaria recalled the period before 2020, when corruption flourished - 1

With the first 100 days of the work of the new ruling majority, Bulgaria sharply recalled the period before 2020, when corruption flourished, tax money was distributed "from the jeep" to those close to power and the entire state machine served a few people at the top. There is nothing new in Borisov's new government, except that the party of his eternal partner Peevski is now called “New Beginning”.

This is stated in the official position of “We continue the change”, sent to the media for the 100 days of the ruling majority's work. Here is more from the PP's position:

In these 100 days, the ruling majority “New Beginning” has done the following “work”:

Found a way to steal new billions of tax money

• Adopted the most inflated budget in the recent history of Bulgaria with 19 billion leva of debt instead of the required 12 billion leva. In the end, the difference will be covered by the people who pay their taxes.

• Created a "black box" of 2.5 billion leva in the central budget for distribution through the Council of Ministers, without control by the National Assembly.

• Directed an additional 7 billion leva to state-owned companies and structures that will be spent without accountability and transparency.

Put billions of leva of European funds at risk, which do not burden the state budget, but are difficult to steal from

• Key anti-corruption laws, mandatory in order to receive the second payment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, are being deliberately delayed. There is no movement on the new rules for selecting members of the Anti-Corruption Commission, and the old leadership continues to deal with political opponents of the cabinet.

While delaying anti-corruption legislation, it has brought back corruption schemes in road construction

• He raised the price for building a kilometer of highway to 50 million leva. Nearly 25 million leva more than market prices. This is a potential "corruption surcharge" of one and a half billion for just one 60 km project.

• He did not even mention the return of inspections of the quality of road construction, which is why the asphalt is thin and the roads are dangerous. After the inspections introduced by the "Denkov" cabinet with taking cores and measuring the evenness, the builders were obliged to repair 80 km. of poor-quality roads at their own expense. At the same time, international analyses prove that 44% of road casualties are explained by the level of corruption in the country.

Compromises healthcare

• He allowed private hospitals, which receive money from the National Health Insurance Fund, to buy medicines without public procurement. We have calculated the damage - 100 million leva goes into private pockets, instead of salaries for nurses and young doctors.

• He deprived children with diabetes of funds, for which only 5 million leva is needed (but he found a way to raise the salaries of SANS employees by 60% and DATO eavesdroppers by 70%).

• He rejected our proposal with the budget law to increase salaries in emergency care, psychiatry, young doctors and nurses and decided that salaries in healthcare should be given by decrees of the Council of Ministers, "from the jeep".

• He refused to introduce cost control in healthcare by rejecting the proposal that people receive SMS when a hospital enters data into their health file and requests payment from the fund.

He did not say a word about the serious problems in justice and impunity

• He elected a constitutional judge praising Peevski and Sarafov, with Peevski's votes.

• He covers up gray cardinals like Pepi Euroto and Mirinski, for whom no one voted and whom no one elected, in their actions to control the justice system and wipe out corruption.

• He does not react to the inaction of Prosecutor General Sarafov in the fight against corruption at the highest levels of power.

• He conceals smuggling by punishing police officers who dare to detain suspected criminals.

• He does not act on signals about the discovered illegal dumps in Sofia and the country, as well as on the mixing of household and hospital waste, which potentially threaten people's health.

He chooses the members of the regulatory bodies, which have a much more serious impact on people's lives and businesses than the executive branch, under the dictation of Peevski. Now at peace, after they failed during our last government.

After the first 100 days of governance of the “New Beginning” coalition, there is no change in the position of “We Continue the Change”. Once we receive a date for Bulgaria's admission to the eurozone, we will initiate a vote of no confidence in the government, which brought us back to the dark years of governance of the Borisov 3 cabinet, with the support, again, of Peevski.

We will not compromise either with corruption or with the European development of our country. We continue to work for a real fight against corruption, governance for the benefit of the people and a better life in Bulgaria.
