A girl and a boy, both 18 years old, were detained by the police in Karnobat after a roadside check, the regional directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
On January 4, Saturday, at around 3:50 p.m., on Karnobat's "Yantra" street, officers from the Karnobat Regional Office stopped a car with a Burgas license plate for inspection. Behind the wheel was an 18-year-old girl, and next to him was an 18-year-old young man from the Karnobat village of Detelina.
The girl was tested for drug use, and the breathalyzer returned a positive sample for cannabis use. The woman from Karnobat was detained for up to 24 hours, and the car was seized.
A rapid investigation has been initiated into the case.
A personal search was also carried out on the 18-year-old young man traveling in the car, and an electronic smoking device - a vape cigarette - was found and seized. The vape had two cartridges containing a brown-yellow liquid.
The police clarified that it was a substance chemically extracted from a hemp plant. The young man was also detained for up to 24 hours.
The work on the case continues by employees of the Karnobat District Office.
