A large quantity of sexual enhancement preparations of unclear status were found in a cargo van during a thorough customs inspection.
At around 8:40 p.m. on 04.02.2025, a cargo van driven by a Bulgarian citizen leaving the country was stopped for inspection in the area of Danube Bridge 2 Vidin-Calafat.
The driver presented the customs inspectors with three sets of waybills for goods destined for Poland and Hungary. Omissions in the submitted documents led the customs officers to conduct a thorough customs inspection of the vehicle. During the inspection, it turned out that the cargo van was transporting 7 boxes containing various sexual enhancement preparations that did not appear as goods in the waybills. The total amount of sexual stimulants with unclear status is 150 kg (8246 sachets and 60,908 tablets). The sexual potency preparations have been detained, their status is pending clarification.
The inspection is part of the compensatory measures of the “Customs“ Agency in connection with the abolition of border control at the internal borders of the European Union after the admission of the Republic of Bulgaria as a full member of the Schengen area.
