With a broken leg, after attempting to escape from the law enforcement agencies, is a 44-year-old criminal from the city of Sliven.
The man jumped from a third floor terrace after being identified by the police in an attempted robbery, the Regional Directorate (RD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sliven announced.
At 8:00 p.m. on February 8, the Regional Police Department received a report from a woman about an attempted robbery and threats against her and her husband.
Earlier in the day, in a parking lot in the Sliven neighborhood of “Druzhba“, an unknown man tried to forcefully take money from the applicant's husband. After failing, he insulted her and threatened the couple.
The perpetrator was immediately identified. He is 44 years old, criminally active and well-known to law enforcement, the police added.
Police officers went to his apartment, after seeing them he jumped from the third-floor terrace and broke his leg.
He was taken to hospital, where he was admitted for treatment in an orthopedic ward, the Sliven Regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also said, BTA reports. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
