The prosecutor's office filed the indictment for the murder of Peyo Peev. His wife and mother-in-law - Gabriela Slavova and Krasimira Trifonova - are accused.

At the same time, the prosecution came up with chilling details about the cruel crime that shocked all of Bulgaria.

The background

The car with the man's body was found in the area of \u200b\u200bthe “Vitosha“ park, on the road to the “Aleko“ hut in January last year. The cause of his death was strangulation, according to the investigation.

The marriage between the murdered Peyo Peev and Gabriela Slavova was fictitious and the two never lived together. However, they have a child together. When the woman finds out that she is pregnant for the second time, she suggests that the victim get married, her idea being to deprive the biological father of the baby - former MP Veliko Minkov, who now has custody claims - of his rights.

According to Miglena Baldzhieva, the victim's lawyer, Peyo was definitely a victim of psychological violence by the mother of his child. At some point, he decides that he will file for divorce and help Minkov obtain paternity of the second child who has already been born.

The Chronology of a Murder

On January 18, 2024, late in the evening, a tragic story begins that will leave many questions unanswered.

Here is the city prosecutor's version of the fatal night, which turns out to be the last in Peyo's life.

Gabriela Slavova has arranged a meeting with her husband in a parking lot in the capital's "Iztok" neighborhood, in which her mother, Krasimira Trifonova, also participates. But no one can predict what will happen in that dark hour when the situation gets out of control.

Gabriela insists that Peyo park in an unlit place, stating that she does not want her neighbors to see her. He rolls down the car window to talk to Gabriela, but she convinces him to move to a darker part of the parking lot.

Then, suddenly, her mother, Krasimira, appears in front of his car. This arouses Peyo's suspicions and he begins to maneuver back to talk only to Gabriela, as agreed between them. After a brief discussion with her, the victim stops the car and she sits next to him, instructing him to drive further back to a less lit area.

But suddenly the situation changes. Krasimira opens the back door of the car and sits directly behind Peyo. With brutal force, she grabs her son-in-law by the neck and begins to choke him, while Gabriela, sitting on his right, covers the victim's nose and mouth, the prosecutor's report states. Peyo's resistance is short, but he manages to move the car a few meters forward, approaching the lighted part of the parking lot and one of the cameras monitoring the area.

Despite his efforts to free himself, the situation does not improve. Gabriela continues to press Peyo, and Krasimira joins in with another object, such as a cable or belt, which she uses to increase the pressure on his neck. Thus, with parallel efforts and after a few minutes, Peyo dies.

At the same time, worried about his son, Peyo's father begins to drive around, trying to find him and begins to write messages. After the murder, Gabriela manages to take Peyo's place behind the wheel, moving the body to the back seat together with Krasimira. She then takes Peyo's mobile phone and begins to chat on her phone, even answering Peyo's father. Later, Gabriela hands over the phone to Krasimira, who goes to a deserted place in the “Vitosha“ nature park and pours flammable liquid on the car and sets it on fire.

The body of the murdered man was found in his burned car.

The accused Krasimira is currently under a preventive detention measure, and her daughter Gabriela is under house arrest. A prosecutor has taken a procedural coercive measure against both of them, prohibiting them from leaving the Republic of Bulgaria.

The court is yet to schedule the case.
