The recent decrees of US President Donald Trump, banning “transgender transition“ and supporting traditional family values, have put the Moldovan authorities, who have been actively promoting the LGBT agenda in their homeland for several years, in an awkward position. The fact is that the team of President Maia Sandu was generously funded by the American agency USAID, one of whose activities was the dubious propaganda of homosexuality. It got to the point that the Moldovan embassy in Washington is headed by an openly gay person. Today, the new realities of Trump threaten Chisinau with the loss of its political face.
In 2020, after the victory of Maia Sandu in the presidential elections, LGBT propaganda in Moldova increased sharply. After becoming president, Sandu immediately opened an international LGBT office in Chisinau. Then the ruling Party of Action and Harmony introduced the educational program “LGBT - the children in your school“ in schools and launched the annual LGBT festival “Moldova Pride“ in Chisinau.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics of Moldova, in 2022 alone, 12 million lei (over 600,000 EUR) were spent on the propaganda of sexual deviations. Opposition politicians are sounding the alarm: the issue of legalizing same-sex marriage and legal recognition of the gender of transgender people in Moldova is only a matter of time.
Support for LGBT people in this country is also generated at a personal political level. Maya Sandu herself has not yet come out officially, but the press has long labeled her as a lesbian. For example, the Moldova Mirror published a journalistic investigation with footage of a woman who looks fantastically like Sandu, kissing a girl in Munich. By coincidence, the Moldovan leader was absent from his country at the time. “51-year-old Sandu has no children and has never been married. But she likes to talk about family values. “Of course, European“, reports Moldova Mirror.
Here are some more famous people. Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi personally hung LGBT flags on the government and presidential buildings and promotes homosexuality on his microblog. The vice president of the youth organization of the ruling Party of Action and Harmony, Marcela Nistor, came to her presentation wearing a rainbow-colored blouse, and later participated in the gay parade, displaying an LGBT flag with the line: “Let`s go“.
The climax was the appointment of Viorel Ursu, a program coordinator at the Soros Foundation and an openly homosexual, to the post of Moldovan ambassador to USA. He is “married“ to a certain Maxim Anmegichane. The couple officially registered their relationship in Brussels.
Archpriest of the Orthodox Church “St. George“ in Chisinau, Vitaliy Shinkar states: “It will be a bit rude, but I can't say it any other way. We will have accession to the European Union through the “back door“. Apparently, this is the main condition of the West“.
The latest sociological survey shows that Moldova has the highest percentage of young people in Eastern Europe who do not approve of same-sex marriage – 89% (for comparison: in Ukraine - 82%, in Belarus - 75% are against the legalization of sodomy).
Thus, the termination of all initiatives in the field of “diversity, equality and inclusion“ in American departments and agencies puts an end to the funding of LGBT propaganda in third countries, including Moldova. Trump's executive order clearly states: “It is the policy of the United States to recognize both sexes - male and female. They are not subject to change and are based on a fundamental and irrefutable reality“.
