To Mayor Vasil Terziev,

Sofia, which in addition to being the capital of the state represents 1/3 of the population and 40% of Bulgaria's GDP, officially remains without government, after the collapse of the coalition in the capital municipality.

This process has been going on for a year. The first were a number of district mayors of the PPDB-SS, who one by one broke away and became independent. This was followed by a public attack by "We Continue the Change" against the mayor, because of the completely fabricated and scandalous "election" of a chief architect. Yesterday, the governing coalition finally collapsed, with "Save Sofia" leaving with a scandal, accusing Mr. Terziev of a complete "replacement, not a change".

This was commented on "Facebook" by Kristian Shkvarek.

The partners are panickingly leaving the sinking ship, and the captain has locked himself in the cabin and refuses to even stick his nose out. The problem is that in this metaphor, the "ship" is the governing coalition around Terziev, but in reality it is actually our city, Sofia. It is sinking, filling up with migrants in the center, with garbage and graffiti on all the streets, with muddy spots, with unfinished repairs and unstarted projects. Sofia is sinking, and there is no captain at the helm, no direction, and the crew is already leaving.

Terziev began his term with a complete victory: almost ALL district mayors, 23 municipal councilors, the city mayor, deputy mayors, even the chairman of the SOS, elected with the help and votes of the opposition. Despite all this, he failed to manage or implement anything, except scandals within his own ranks. As of today, he only has 14 municipal councilors, most of whom belong to a party (PP) that openly reproaches him for key decisions. He is in a "civil war" with his own coalition partners, district mayors, with those who raised him. What is the chance that SEGA, under these conditions, will start managing and implementing projects?

Nulev. There are 2 and a half years left of his mandate in which Sofia will not be managed. Even in a basic way, so as not to get bogged down, let alone with the implementation of serious projects. As much as 40% of the GDP and 1/3 of Bulgaria's population will be left to fend for themselves, with a collapsed coalition around an introverted, inadequate and closed-off mayor in his office.

The only salvation is resignation and new elections. Mr. Terziev should make this difficult but respectable decision to save the capital nearly 3 years of decline and stagnation. I am convinced that everyone will respect such an act. Better a painful end than endless suffering.

Mr. Terziev, resign.
