The coach of the Bulgarian men's national basketball team, Rosen Barchovski, said after the loss to world champion Germany with 85:94 as a guest in Bamberg in the final round of Group D of the EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers that he feels pride in the team's performance, but also regret, since the team failed to qualify for the championship of the Old Continent later this year.
"What happens after you let them make such a difference. We came out transformed. I'm not saying we would have beaten, but maybe if the difference wasn't so big, we would have turned it around. There were situations at the end, but I don't want to," Barchovski told Nova Sport.
"The feeling is both of pride that we have a team that can fight with the world champion, and on the other hand we didn't manage to qualify. We showed a brave, courageous game. We also hit the line, but we made technical mistakes. I listen to positive people, those who understand basketball, and I don't pay attention to the others," added the head coach of the Bulgarian national team.
