BMW engineers also focused on the energy recovery system, which allows the recovery of electrical energy and significantly increases the efficiency of the car.
In 98% of cases, the car does not need a classic brake, since the electronics control the braking of each wheel and recover energy, increasing the battery reserve by 25%.
Information about the current state of the electric motors is displayed via LED strips, where green indicates acceleration, blue indicates recuperation, and orange indicates the use of the friction brake.
This allows for accurate information about the car's operation in real time. To ensure excellent dynamic performance, the car is also equipped with active aerodynamics, which is controlled by the central brain of the system.
At high speeds, aerodynamics allows the creation of downforce of up to 1.2 tons, which gives the car unique maneuverability and stability in bends. This prototype is necessary for the development of future refined electric vehicles on the New Class platform.
